Blackstar Building Group, Inc. is a family-owned construction company located in Grand Rapids, MI. Since 2012 we have specialized in providing high quality services and craftsmanship to the construction industry.

Our experience in general contracting and general trades makes us a good choice for people looking for an experienced company to provide them with the quality they deserve. Our president and owner has been involved in the construction business for over 40 years. He started working as an ironworker in 1979 in Charleston, SC and helped build prefabricated metal buildings in the 1980’s and started design / building car washes in the late 1990’s.

Today, Blackstar Building Group continues to design and build projects for solely owned car wash owners. Blackstar provides design / build project services for companies like Enterprise Rent a Car and Irwin Seating. In 2025 Blackstar completed more than 24 general contracting and general trade projects.

Blackstar provides general trades services to other contractors in the industry. Blackstar has 20 carpenters on staff to provide carpentry labor needs, doors and hardware installation, cabinet and countertop installation, and many other skills necessary for commercial projects.

Blackstar currently has four project managers, three superintendents, and an accounting person with years of experience on its’ staff that will provide the necessary supervision, management, and budget tracking for a successful, high quality, design / build construction experience.
